EaugMaj7 Ukulele Chord

Restless and dreamlike, EaugMaj7 leans on a raised fifth over a major 7th to sound the notes E, G#, C, and D#. It slips naturally into jazz turnarounds and noir-tinged passages where you want a hint of unease.

How to Play This Chord

Position your fingers on the fretboard as shown in the diagram. The vertical lines represent the four strings, from the top G string (left) to the A string (right), and the horizontal lines are the frets. Numbers inside the dots indicate which finger to use: 1 (index), 2 (middle), 3 (ring), 4 (pinky). An X means don't play that string; an O means play it open. A bar spanning multiple strings means one finger presses across all of them at once — this is known as a barre chord.

Tips & Tricks

Set your index on the G string at fret 1, your middle finger on the C string at fret 3, leave the E string open, and add your ring finger on the A string at fret 3. The gap between the index and the two higher fingers is the catch — keep the index curled tight so the open E string sings between them.

There are many ways to play this chord. Try these:
