Baug7 Ukulele Chord

Comprising B, D#, G, and A, Baug7 is a dominant seventh stretched by its raised fifth into something tense and jazzy. It slots neatly into funk and swing turnarounds, supplying an edgy, unresolved V chord that wants to fall into a minor home.

How to Play This Chord

Position your fingers on the fretboard as shown in the diagram. The vertical lines represent the four strings, from the top G string (left) to the A string (right), and the horizontal lines are the frets. Numbers inside the dots indicate which finger to use: 1 (index), 2 (middle), 3 (ring), 4 (pinky). An X means don't play that string; an O means play it open. A bar spanning multiple strings means one finger presses across all of them at once — this is known as a barre chord.

Tips & Tricks

This is the A#aug7 shape moved up one fret — barre your index finger across all four strings at fret 2, then add your middle finger on the C and E strings at fret 3. Press the barre evenly so the outer G and A strings ring, and arch the middle finger to cover both inner strings without touching the others.

There are many ways to play this chord. Try these:
